Home Remedies for Arthritis and a Natural Cure for Osteoporosis

Home remedies for arthritis and a natural cure for osteoporosis tend to be very similar, although arthritis is quite a different disease than osteoporosis. However, before we get into osteoporosis, let's first discuss arthritis, shall we?

arthritic hands, arthritis, praying hands, osteoarthritis There are two different types of arthritis.

Osteoarthritis is a painful and debilitating condition that involves progressive pain in the hips, knees, neck, lower back and hands. Osteoarthritis usually develops in joints that are exposed to repeated stress from exercise or overuse. Carrying excessive weight can also be a contributing factor to osteoarthritis. This repeated use or strain wears away the cartilage and can cause swollen joints and bony spurs.

Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease that involves inflammation of the fingers, thumbs, elbows, wrists, knees, feet and ankles. In this autoimmune disease, the body releases enzymes which attack and break down the lining of the joints.

Osteoporosis...while it sounds like osteoarthritis, is actually quite different. With osteoporosis, the bones becomes less dense and more likely to fracture due to loss of bone tissue.

Typical treatment for arthritis usually involves the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). However, one common side effect of NSAIDs is intestinal bleeding.2 This is obviously not something you want to have happen. Thankfully, there are many home remedies for arthritis than can provide natural relief for your painful joints.
