In my youth I had the occasional need for the homeopathic remedy for excess (tobacco or alcohol.) It is nux vomica (30x strength.)You can get it at any reputable health food store in the homeopathic section.
The acute (hangover) dosage for this remedy (as advised to me by a qualified homeopathist) is 2 pellets (poured into the lid of the container 1st and from the lid to the mouth) where it disolves under the tongue. Repeat every 15 minutes for the 1st hour (so 4 doses) then a couple every 2 hours (if needed.)
This remedy can be taken before bed with a tall glass of water or in the a.m. note that some homeopathics are contradicted by coffee or mint or food so wait a 1/2 hour or so after eating, brushing etc. Give them a chance before you resort to coffee :)
