Apple cider vinegar nukes heartburn!

by BB
(California)

Several years ago, I read a natural cures book that explained the cause of heartburn, or acid reflux, as a situation of not enough stomach acid - instead of the "too much" stomach acid theory.

The sphincter muscle between the stomach and the esophagus (the food tube) normally closes during digestion so that acid doesn't flow back up into the esophagus.

It is actually the churning stomach acid that signals the muscle to contract and close the opening. So if there isn't enough stomach acid, then the muscle doesn't close the opening and you get heartburn.

A teaspoon of apple cider vinegar then, causes the muscle to close and thus stops heartburn.

This made a lot of sense to me! At the time, my husband suffered from heartburn and was chowing down Tums constantly. I told him about this solution to heartburn and tried it.

We were both amazed at how quickly it really worked! No more Tums for him!

Then recently, I was having chest pains at night and was afraid I was heading for a heart attack (I'd already had one, and never had heartburn so I didn't know what it felt like...)

My doctor told me that it was heartburn from what I described. I was so relieved!

I went home and after dinner that night, took some apple cider vinegar and WOO HOO! I slept through the night without any chest pains!

So the data that heartburn is caused by too much stomach acid is false! Try it and see for yourself!

Cheers,
BB
