Hello, and welcome to My-Home-Remedies.com! I am a wife, mother of three young children and a self-proclaimed "information junkie." I love doing research, and sharing what I have learned with others. I'm that friend ..the one who if you tell her you are suffering with a sinus infection, she will give you five different home remedies to try. Every since I was a child, I have always been interested in healing. I was the kid who would calmly put band-aids on a severely bleeding wound and then go about my business all while dripping blood everywhere (I still have the scar on my ankle, from that roller skating accident). I used to wrap up my own sprained ankles and make homemade splints for injured fingers. Yes, I was a very accident-prone child! When I was growing up, my mother was very into natural home remedies. As a teen, we would be given chicken soup and fenugreek tea when we had a cold. If we had a headache, my mother told us to lie down and drink water (as opposed to giving us pain medication). Our medicine cabinet contained strange sounding, old medications that I don't think are even marketed anymore. I don't think I was ever given Tylenol, and can only remember being on antibiotics once during my entire childhood. When I got married and had my own children, my interest in alternative medicine and natural cures increased. After all, moms don't get sick days...so learning how to cure a cold or flu quickly became top priority for me. Naturally, I also want my children to have a healthy, natural childhood. I have only the greatest degree of respect for conventional doctors, and we do seek their advice when needed, but for everyday minor issues, I much prefer the "natural, home way". I have consulted many books and various sources when writing this website, and have greatly enjoyed doing so and learning new things. I hope you find the information contained within valuable and useful. I'm glad you found my little corner on the web. To Your Health, Amelia Bentrup, M.S. (Reproductive Physiology)
